The most tragic example, demonstrating the need for this type of promotion, is the case of Mared Foulkes. Ms Foulkes a 21-year-old 2nd year pharmacy student, who committed suicide by throwing herself off the Menai Bridge in Anglesey (Wales), after she was (incorrectly) informed that she had failed her resit exams.  While this is the most extreme example, it reflects an underlying level of distress caused by examinations for some students click on the photo to read BBC NEWS on Ms Foulkes’ story.
